Sophie Everingham Transcendence

Transcendence is an exploration of existence free from the limitations inherent in matter, where the world of dreaming and fantasy is joined to the everyday rational world in an absolute reality and surreality. My handcrafted mountain landscape is layered with multiple connotations of the ancient Chinese traditions of jade carving and landscape painting. My use of the female form subtly references the fecundity of the earth and how life changes with the seasons.
