Laura Myers Ode to arte povera
In Ode to arte povera I have explored the often-overlooked beauty and texture of decaying architectural structures and the inevitably of decay in the modern world. My use of disregarded/recycled materials, such as cardboard, bark and paper, directly refers to dilapidation and simulates the texture and fragmented nature of these structures. These materials, once considered to be ‘rubbish’, are transformed as they are built up to ultimately represent the aesthetic and inevitability of decay.
