Amy Fairleigh Liability
I struggle to live with two versions of myself. This struggle results in anxieties that perpetuate the idea that I may be a liability to others; inconvenient and not needed. I have used black and white charcoal along with graphite to represent the ambiguity that I feel within, showing it as a divide between a polished facade and a tormented inner self. This diptych of self-portraits explores my personal issue of accepting that others have, and will always have, a perception of me that is different to my own.
