Ella Shield 'The presence in your absence'
“I paint flowers so they will not die.” Frida Kahlo
In the wake of loss, one seeks refuge in the profound moments of the past, where fleeting memories preserve the essence of what was loved and is now lost. My body of work captures my personal memories as part of the universal experience of grief, transcending the confines of time and place. My intent is to infuse a sense of optimism into these poignant moments, representing the loss of my loved ones as being merely physical, as their presence resides in the familiar spaces and objects of my life.
