Brett Whiteley: Eternity is Now

View the former workplace and home of the renowned Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939–92).

The Brett Whiteley Studio now presents exhibitions relating to Whiteley’s art, archives and legacy.

The exhibition Eternity is Now at the Brett Whiteley Studio begins with a display of self-portraits, depicting Whiteley from age 16 to the final years of his life. In major works including Alchemy 1972–73 and Self-portrait in the studio 1976, Whiteley used self-portraiture to probe the complexity of his inner world and consider his own mortality.

Use the clickable colour-coded dots to acces artwork label text (blue) and audio (orange) of Wendy Whiteley speaking about selected artworks and spaces. To move between levels of the Studio, click on the ‘Floor selector’ icon or the ‘View dollhouse’ icon at the bottom left of the virtual visit window.
