In ancient cultures ceramics were used in religious rituals, to give offerings and thanks to the gods. But in the growing spiritual emptiness of the twenty-first century, what is it that we worship?
We live in a paranoid and self-indulgent era. I find that, increasingly we become slaves to our own vices. My work represents an offering to the 'gods' that have deserted our avaricious age.
A salute to Jean Michel Basquiat, Picasso's Guernica, Barbara Hanrahan, Barbara Hepworth and the Art Brut work of Jean Dubuffet, who all lent various dimensions to my work.
