It is always a relief to believe what is pleasant, but it is more important to believe what is true

People in contemporary society are easily swayed by photographs in the media. These moments in time in individuals' alleged 'picture perfect' lives don't often portray all the truth; such images may not illustrate the bigger picture - the pain, sorrow and hardship unseen behind the two-dimensional surface of the photograph. My artwork emphasises the need to explore the deeper story.
